Thanks ladies! Alaina, I actulaly "aged and distressed" the burlap a bit and it seemed to soften it a little. I boiled a huge pot of water, then put several tea bags in it (to give it an aged color.) I soaked the burlap for about 15 minutes. Then I rinsed it and put it out in the sun for a few hours. (This also got rid of that burlap smell!)
